Well, I finally got back around to the w.i.p. sculpture I started. I completely re-did the face and am very happy with how it turned out. The original w.i.p. w/out the clothes has been moved to my scraps if you want to compare it to the final sculpt.

*Edit:
Ah yes, forgot to mention the medium, It's super sculpey. I loooooooove that stuff!

ahh super sculpey - I notice you have this done on wood - did you attach your wire armature to the wood through the feet?
also wondering - how did you bake this? did you have to remove the wood to be able to put this in the oven (is wood oven safe?) and if you did, then how did you place her - did you put her on her side or try to get her to stand up straight in the oven???

Yeah, usually what I do is make the wire armature legs a little long so that I can drill holes in the wood and stick the wires in that. It's removable from the base, but it stays pretty securely. I treid making a free standing sculpture before [link] , it was a little tricky as the feet were a little too soft to hold him up, so I usually try to secure to a base. And so far the wood seems pretty safe to bake with the sculpture, I think it's cause the temperature is so low, and I don't have like an open flame in the oven or anything ;) .

lol - I've just never tried putting wood in the oven before :| I have no idea what would happen, but if nothing seems to be happening, that sounds really good.
The low temperature you're putting it at..., is that the temperature it says to bake it on on the box ???

Yeah, just the regular tempurature, it's like 275 I think that's pretty low as far as ovens go. Although sometimes I do it like 15 degrees cooler if I know I'm going to bake it again for other layers like clothing and hair, don't know if it makes a difference though really...
